About Lesson

Introduction:

A firewall is a network security device or software application that monitors and controls incoming and outgoing network traffic based on predetermined security rules. It acts as a barrier between a trusted internal network and untrusted external networks, such as the internet, to prevent unauthorized access and protect against cyber threats. Firewalls can filter traffic based on IP addresses, port numbers, protocols, or application types, allowing only authorized traffic to pass through while blocking or alerting on suspicious or malicious activity. They are a fundamental component of network security architecture, helping organizations safeguard their systems, data, and resources from cyberattacks and unauthorized access.
