Microsoft released new Windows 11 Insider Preview builds on September 8, 2026 for the Beta and Experimental channels. The update includes several features that are particularly relevant to productivity and accessibility.
One notable improvement is Cross-device Resume. When a user resumes a webpage from a phone and the phone’s browser is not installed on the PC, Windows can now offer the option to open the page directly in the PC’s default browser or install the phone’s browser for a native experience.
Another important improvement is for Narrator, Microsoft’s built-in screen reader. The Experimental channel now includes support for reading and navigating mathematical equations. This can help users who are blind or have low vision work with formulas, equations and scientific notation more independently.
Windows Magnifier is also becoming more useful for people working with multiple monitors. Each display can now maintain its own zoom level. For example, one monitor could remain at 100% while another is enlarged to 200%, depending on the task.
These features are currently part of Windows Insider preview builds, so they should not be treated as universally available stable Windows features yet.
