These functions are used for trigonometric and geometric calculations.
PI
Returns the value of π.
=PI()
Approximate result:
3.141592654
SIN
Returns the sine of an angle.
Excel’s trigonometric functions use radians, so degrees can be converted using RADIANS.
Example
=SIN(RADIANS(30))
Result:
0.5
\(\sin(a)=0.5\)

COS
Returns the cosine of an angle.
=COS(RADIANS(60))
Result:
0.5
TAN
Returns the tangent of an angle.
=TAN(RADIANS(45))
Result:
1

Practice
Create a Trigonometry Calculator where the user enters an angle in degrees and Excel calculates:
- SIN
- COS
- TAN
