LET
LET allows you to assign names to calculations inside a formula.
Syntax
=LET(name1,value1,calculation)
Example
Instead of repeatedly calculating Sales × Discount:
=LET(
Sales,B2,
Discount,C2,
Sales*(1-Discount)
)
This makes complex formulas easier to read and can avoid repeating the same calculation.
LAMBDA
LAMBDA allows you to create reusable custom functions without traditional VBA.
Syntax
=LAMBDA(parameter,calculation)
Example
=LAMBDA(x,x*18%)
A reusable custom function can be created through Name Manager.
For example, create:
GSTAmount
with:
=LAMBDA(amount,amount*18%)
Then use:
=GSTAmount(B2)
Practice
Create a reusable LAMBDA function for:
Final Price = Price + 18% GST
