Explanation
A Named Range allows you to give a meaningful name to a cell or range.
Instead of using:
=$F$1
you can name the cell:
TaxRate
Then use:
=B2*TaxRate

Creating a Named Range
- Select the cell/range.
- Go to the Name Box.
- Type a name.
- Press Enter.
Alternatively:
Formulas → Define Name
Name Manager
Formulas → Name Manager allows you to:
- Create names
- Edit names
- Delete names
- View existing names
Example
=B2*TaxRate
is easier to understand than:
=B2*$F$1
