Part A — Comparison Operators

Comparison operators compare values and return TRUE or FALSE.

Operator

Meaning

Example

=

Equal to

=A2=B2

>

Greater than

=A2>B2

<

Less than

=A2<B2

>=

Greater than or equal to

=A2>=40

<=

Less than or equal to

=A2<=40

<>

Not equal to

=A2<>B2

Example

If A2 = 75:

=A2>=40

Result:

TRUE

Part B — Order of Operations

Excel follows mathematical rules when calculating formulas.

For example:

=10+5*2

Result:

20

because multiplication is performed before addition.

If you want addition first:

=(10+5)*2

Result:

30

Formula

Formula:

=(A2*B2)-(A2*B2*C2)
