Grouping allows similar PivotTable items to be combined.

Example:

Products can be grouped into:

  • Electronics
  • Accessories

Numbers can also be grouped into ranges.

Date Grouping

Dates can be grouped by:

  • Years
  • Quarters
  • Months
  • Days

Example:

Instead of individual dates:

01-Sep-2026
02-Sep-2026
03-Sep-2026

You can summarize them as:

September 2026 → Total Sales

Sorting

PivotTable data can be sorted:

  • A to Z
  • Z to A
  • Smallest to Largest
  • Largest to Smallest
